
| Charles Haynes is a professional performing artist whose background in
music includes work in Big Bands, Duo and Solo Jazz
concerts, "modern Jazz" combos, Afro-Brazilian
and electronic groups, contemporary "popular Top-40"
bands as well as Classical ensembles, ranging in size from Chamber
Music to Symphonic. Mr. Haynes has been concertizing for more than 25 years, performing in such diverse places as New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, in Europe and West Africa. He is also a former Department Chairman of both the "Jazz Studies" and "Woodwinds" programs for the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. Currently, Mr. Haynes teaches at both Sacred Heart University and Housatonic Community College where he conducts courses in Jazz History. He also performs regularly with a number of Jazz and Contemporary ensembles as well as recording studio projects, as leader, composer and arranger. Credits include an appearance at the COOL Jazz Festival, guest soloist for the CD "The Song is You" / Nicole Pasternak Group (Cexton Records), and several independently-produced record projects. |
